I have been painting in the medium of watercolor for more than 25 years. Animals have always been among my favorite subjects. I find their variety of color, texture and shape to be endlessly fascinating and challenging. In every portrait, I try to reveal the steadfast heart, playful nature and shining spirit of my subject. Working from your good quality photographs, I paint very special animals as their people know them best.
My subjects also include people, still life, florals, and homes. I strive to capture and preserve the fleeting moments of life; an expression or gesture, the light, the season, or a striking arrangement of objects. Largely self taught, I have taken workshops with a number of local and nationally known artists. My work has been seen in local exhibitions and the Minnesota State Fair, and also hangs in private collections. I am an active member of the Minnesota Watercolor Society, having served as President and Vice President.
